Teaching Sentiment Analysis with AI

Columbia Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) student Hanying Wei developed Sentiment Analysis Tutor I and Sentiment Analysis Tutor II, a pair of AI tools that support students learning data analysis techniques. The first tool, Sentiment Analysis Tutor I, introduces students to the concept of sentiment analysis, explaining its purpose, applications, and relevance in an engaging and accessible manner. The second tool, Sentiment Analysis Tutor II, provides step-by-step guidance for conducting sentiment analysis in R or Python, helping even students with no prior coding experience. Used together, these tools provide accessible support for learning and applying practical skills in real-world data analysis.
