Create Experiences

Teaching STEM with AI

Columbia Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) student Ibuki Sugiura developed two related AI tools intended to help instructors in STEM build more accessible and inclusive courses, specifically to reach students from non-STEM majors. The first tool, a Jargon Identification agent, pinpoints words that may have discipline specific meanings or connotations that need explanation. The second tool, an Interdisciplinary Connection agent, proposes strategies for developing and presenting course content in ways that connect to students’ diverse disciplinary backgrounds.
