Measure Outcomes

Supporting Student-Led Learning

Columbia Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) student Nova Qi developed You Teach Me, an AI tool that encourages students to engage with course content by teaching it to others. The tool provides a set of AI bots, each trained to act as a student from a distinct disciplinary background. Through teaching each of these AI students, users can challenge themselves to find new ways of articulating what they know and identify weaknesses in their own understanding that they can bring to office hours or independent review.

Interested in using AI to measure learning outcomes?

We invite Columbia University faculty and graduate students to connect with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) team to discuss how AI can be used to measure student learning. Schedule an in-person consultation with our team, visit our open Office Hours, or log in for our virtual chats to explore which approaches align with your teaching goals and how to implement them effectively.
